Who are we? Mike Yates, Keith Webb, and G.T. Smith
(I'll refer to us as the principals) are the ones that get this thing running
each year. But LYFL is really the Coaches that Volunteer their time, and
the Kids who participate to make it happen. Oh! I guess the parents
get some recognition for getting the kids where they are supposed to be.
We are currently in the process as of this year in obtaining a non-for
profit status. (Thanks to Christy Carlson for
researching this for us.)
We decided 2 years ago, that we hated fund raising, and most
of the parents agreed. So without fundraising, and concession money, (KY Indoors
operates the concessions, we do not get a penny from this.) We had to set the
player participation fee at a point to hopefully cover the costs.
Last year, thanks to a financial gift from the
Fahmys and sponsorships from the
Brownings, we decided to pay off our interest
bearing debt. The current debt held by LYFL will remain interest
free until the end of 2008.
This year, gifts from the Wheelers, and
Spine & Brain Neurosurgical Center provided some of our player
sponsorships.
We would like to say thank you to each of these families and
businesses for helping the kids.
In order to achieve our #1 Goal of providing a safe,
educational and enjoyable experience for the children to learn how to play
football, we have defined two additional goals for 2008.
#1 Increase advertising / exposure.
#2 Develop a team of individuals to assist the principals
with the operations of LYFL, and set up a plan for future
growth, and program longevity.
