ANNUAL LYFL FALL FOOTBALL SEASON
The season will begin the first week of
August. We will have player evaluations and draft, equipment distribution,
and several weeks of team practices before starting the 10-game season on
September 4, 2010. The Championship games will be played on October 31,
2010. Practices during the season will be either on Monday/ Wednesday or
Tuesday/Thursday, depending on the teams. Practices will be held each
night from 5:30 until 7:15 pm. Games will be played every Saturday (times
will be based on divisions). Divisions are split into the following age
groups: 5-6 yr olds, 7-8 yr olds, 9-10 yr olds, and 11-12 yr olds.
The birthday cut-off date for each division is August 1st. Practices and
games will be played at Kentucky Indoor. The 9-10 yr old and the 11-12 yr
olds will play some games outdoors. Specific dates for all FALL LEAGUE
activities will be posted as the season approaches. Dates are subject to
change.
EQUIPMENT
A full set of football equipment
will be provided by LYFL for SUMMER CAMP and the FALL LEAGUE.
This includes a helmet, shoulder pads, practice and game jerseys, and a
seven-piece pad/pants set. Parents
are required to supply personal items such as a mouth-guard, athletic supporter
with protective cup, and athletic shoes (no cleats).
All equipment supplied by LYFL must be returned at the end of the camp
and season.
The cost for the FALL SEASON is
$200. This cost includes fees for
the facilities used, equipment usage, and general operating expenses for the
league. There will be a $25 late fee
for sign-ups after August 16, 2010. There
are no fundraisers, concessions, or booster fees at LYFL.
Parents simply get to watch their kids play football.
